We have been raising funds and awareness for Boston Children’s Hospital Scoliosis Research. Now in our 9th year we are hoping for our best turn out yet. Please mark your calendars for Tuesday June 24th!
Our Story
After the untimely passing of our Dad, Bill Pellegrini, we decided that the best way to honor his memory was to bring together the many things that truly made him happy. We combine his love of golf with his love of his family and friends into an event that celebrates both. The last part or the puzzle is our charity of choice was Boston Children’s hospital for his only granddaughter who was a patient for 10 years. Jackie was diagnosed with congenital scoliosis at the age of 1 and after several opinions, we brought her to Boston Children’s Hospital. She had her first surgery at the age of 2 to insert the VEPTR device that she would have for the next 10 years. Every six months, she would go back for a lengthening procedure, until she outgrew the initial device and had to have it replaced. She then had a new device put in that was a custom rod to keep her curvature in control. This lasted for a little over a year before she broke the device! At the age of 12 she underwent her final surgery, which included two permanent titanium rods and over 18 screws, along with two spinal fusions. She is Now a full time student at the University of New Haven and living her best life!
